Festus Police will seek charges against a man who allegedly crashed a pickup into a deck, shed and fence at a home in the 1100 block of Hillsboro Road on Monday evening, Aug. 5, Chief Doug Wendel said.
He said the department responded to the accident at about 11 p.m. after the 40-year-old Festus man, who was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, allegedly crashed into and damaged the items at the home
“The vehicle ran through a yard,” Wendel said. “(The pickup) struck a deck support pole and continued through the yard and struck a fence and a shed.”
Wendel said the report was not complete, but the driver is suspected of driving while impaired.
“We will seek charges of DWI (driving while intoxicated), driving while revoked and possession of narcotics,” he said.
The driver was taken to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County with undetermined injuries, Wendel said.
He said the pickup was moderately damaged.
