A 64-year-old man and a 50-year-old man, both of Festus, reportedly were caught trying to steal lumber from a construction site in the Henley Woods development in Arnold. The men allegedly were trying to steal materials worth about $1,000, Arnold Police reported.

Officers were called just before noon on April 2 to the area around Vine Clad Hill Drive and Allison Court because two men were loading wood into a utility trailer attached to a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. Fisher Homes is developing the Henley Woods subdivision in the area, the report said.

The men were arrested and taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek felony stealing charges against the men through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Maj. Clinton Wooldridge said.
