A 34-year-old Festus man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Arnold. An officer allegedly found the man sleeping in a pickup on northbound Hwy. 141 near the I-55 ramp, Arnold Police reported.
Officers were called to the area at about 12:30 a.m. July 29 because a 2017 Dodge Ram was seen on the highway. The pickup was in gear, and its engine was running, the report said.
The officer was able to put the pickup in park. He also allegedly found two empty and one partially empty alcoholic beverage containers in the Ram, according to the report.
After the man was arrested, he was transported to an area hospital for treatment, the report said.
Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for felony DWI, Detective Lt. Jeremey Christopher said.
