Eureka Police patch

An 18-year-old Eureka man was found with a small amount of marijuana and brass knuckles after being stopped by police. The teen, who was driving a 2009 Cadillac, was stopped at about 8:09 p.m. Jan. 22 in the 200 block of Walden Court because of a headlight violation, Eureka Police reported

When the officer checked the interior of the car, he allegedly saw marijuana and brass knuckles in the car’s center console. When the teenager was searched, the officer allegedly found a vacuum-sealed plastic bag in the teen’s pants’ pocket that contained a substance that appeared to be marijuana, according to the report.

A 21-year-old St. Louis County man was a passenger in the car, and he was wanted in St. Louis County on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court after leaving the scene of an accident, the report said.

The two men were taken to the Eureka Police station, and the teenager was later released on a summons to appear in Municipal Court for possession of a controlled substance and a weapons violation. The 21-year-old was allowed to post bond at the station and was released, Capt. David Wilson said.
