A 19-year-old Eureka woman was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated after she was seen speeding and swerving on roads near the Legends subdivision. The woman also allegedly had two fake driver’s licenses, Eureka Police reported.
An officer at about 2 a.m. Nov. 28 saw a 2021 Mercedes-Benz allegedly traveling at 45 mph in a 30-mph zone on Southern Hills Drive. The officer followed the car to West Main Street, where the woman allegedly failed to maintain a single lane before being stopped, the report said.
The woman allegedly told the officer she knew she was speeding, but she also said she had not been drinking. However, the woman had a wristband on that had the Jim Beam Bourbon logo on it and the letters “VIP,” according to the report.
The woman performed field sobriety tests. The first test was inconclusive, but she allegedly failed two other tests and was arrested, the report said.
The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released to a sober driver, according to the report.
Eureka Police issued the woman summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged improper lane use, speeding and DWI, Capt. Michael Werges said.
