Eureka Police are searching for a 38-year-old Washington woman after a room at the Super 8 hotel, 1733 W. Fifth St., was damaged. The approximate cost to repair the room is $590, police reported.

Officers were called at about 11 a.m. Aug. 28 after the woman, who had rented the room, and a man were last seen walking east on Fifth Street away from the hotel. There was red hair dye spread across the room, staining towels, the floor, bedsheets and a painting hanging behind the bed, the report said.

An officer also found an empty pill capsule between the bed and the entertainment center. The officer believes the capsule may have contained illegal narcotics, according to the report.

As of Sept. 9, the woman had not been located, Capt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about her location to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
