A 42-year-old Villa Ridge woman was arrested in Eureka for alleged possession of illegal drugs. A bag containing a white powdery substance was found in the car she was driving when she was pulled over on Hwy. 109 near Truitt Drive, Eureka Police reported.

The woman was stopped at about 9:45 a.m. March 9 because the 1999 BMW 325i she was driving reportedly had license plates on it that were registered to a Hyundai. The woman said she had gotten the car from a friend, the report said.

The woman’s driver’s license had been revoked, and she was wanted on warrants from Pacific Police for driving with a suspended license and failing to register a vehicle, according to the report.

The woman was arrested, and when the officer searched the car, he allegedly found the bag that contained the white powdery substance. He also found a pink backpack that had two pills in it. The woman said the backpack belonged to her, but she told police she did not know where the bag or pills came from, the report said.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Lt. Michael Werges said.
