A 22-year-old Cuba, Mo., man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after being pulled over for having only one functioning headlight. The incident happened Feb. 9, Eureka Police reported.
At about 2:30 a.m., an officer saw a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro traveling west on I-44 with only one headlight and followed the Camaro, which allegedly shifted lanes, traveled off the side of the road and onto the shoulder. So, the officer turned on his lights and pulled over the Camaro near mile marker 263, the report said.
When the officer got to the car, he allegedly saw an open bottle of bourbon on the passenger-side seat. The officer asked the driver if he had been drinking, and the driver allegedly said not since 3 p.m. However, the driver allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was arrested and taken to the Police Station, according to the report.
The driver already had a pending DWI-related offense. The man was booked and released to a sober driver with a citation to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for suspicion of DWI and operating a vehicle with one functioning headlight, Capt. David Wilson said.
