A 36-year-old Eureka man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following an alleged domestic disturbance at a home in the 700 block of Southern Hills Drive, Eureka Police reported.
Officers got a call around 12:05 a.m. July 15 about the disturbance at the home, but before they arrived, a woman called the Police Station and said the man had left in a white 2019 Range Rover, the report said.
Officers saw the Range Rover traveling west on West Main Street near Wengler Road and began following he SUV. After confirming the man was driving the Range Rover, the officers stopped the SUV on Six Flags Road near I-44, according to the report.
The man allegedly appeared intoxicated and told the officers he argued with his wife after they had gone out to dinner with some friends. The man also allegedly said he had too much to drink, Eureka Police reported.
The man allegedly failed three field sobriety tests. He was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released to a sober driver after he was issued a summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged DWI, Lt. Michael Werges said.
