A 24-year-old Eureka man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for reportedly speeding on Hwy. 109 in Eureka. He allegedly was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion at 70 mph in a 45-mph zone, Eureka Police reported.
An officer reportedly spotted the man speeding at about 2:40 a.m. Feb. 1 and stopped him near Bald Hill Road. The driver appeared intoxicated and the officer reported smelling alcohol on the suspect’s breath, the report said.
The man reportedly failed sobriety tests. He was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he allegedly registered a .124 percent blood-alcohol content,\. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit.
He was released with summonses to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for DWI, speeding and driving with expired license plates, Lt. Michael Werges said.
