Eureka Police are searching for a 68-year-old Eureka man who reportedly hit his roommate with a car during an argument. The alleged victim, a 45-year-old Eureka man, was injured but refused medical treatment, authorities reported.
The incident happened at about 6:10 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 300 block of Heyden Drive in Eureka. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the 45-year-old man bleeding from his right elbow, both hands and his right knee, the report said.
The 45-year-old told police that his roommate accused him of kicking his dog and the two began arguing. The alleged victim also said that during the argument, his roommate left the home and got into a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu and drove it toward the 45-year-old, according to the report.
The alleged victim said he was trying to write down the car’s license plate number when it struck him at his knees and lifted him onto the hood. The man held onto the car as it traveled west on Heyden Drive and then north onto Butler Drive, and he fell off the car near the intersection of Butler and Weber drives, the report said.
The 45-year-old said he believes his roommate had been drinking, according to the report.
As of Monday (Sept. 27), police had not found the Malibu or the roommate, Lt. Michael Werges. said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
