A drone, laptop computers and other electronics and items valued at nearly $5,000 recently were stolen from a home in the 3900 block of Hwy. P in the Festus area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 24, someone kicked open a door to the home and stole a Yuneec Q500 Typhoon Quadcopter drone, a Sony laptop computer, a Hewlett-Packard laptop, a Sony Playstation 4 console, a Playstation Vita, a Super Nintendo console, 11 Playstation games, a Blackvue Sport SC500 GoPro camera, a Nikon camera, an iPhone 4S, a TomTom GPS device and a Sony HD camcorder. In all, the items were valued at $4,830, the report said.

The home was ransacked and some of the victims’ belongings were found piled up in a nearby wooded area, where it looks like culprits left items until they could be loaded into a vehicle, according to the report.

Fingerprints were taken from some items that had been moved in the home and submitted as evidence, the report said.

As of Aug. 27, the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
