A 27-year-old De Soto woman was arrested after she reportedly smashed a beer bottle over a Pevely woman's head at an Arnold bar and fled the scene. The Pevely woman suffered several injuries to her face in the alleged assault, Arnold Police reported.
Police were called at about 11:20 p.m. May 26 to the HotShots Sports Bar and Grill, 131 Arnold Crossroads, following a disturbance there. Officers found a 25-year-old Pevely woman outside the bar who allegedly was hit with the bottle and was bleeding , the report said.
The alleged assailant had already left the area in a black Nissan, but an officer spotted it on Hwy. 141 and pulled it over. The driver was identified as the alleged attacker and was arrested, according to the report.
The alleged assault reportedly left the victim with fractures to her nose, a cut on her right eyebrow and scratches on the cornea of her right eye, requiring her to wear an eye patch. She was transported by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, Arnold Police reported.
The De Soto woman told police she was attacked by the Pevely woman and another woman at the bar. The De Soto woman also said the women punched her multiple times in the head before she allegedly hit one with a beer bottle, the report said.
Arnold Police said the De Soto woman did not have any visible injuries, according to the report.
The De Soto woman was booked and released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek a third-degree assault charge against her through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
