A 30-year-old De Soto man was arrested in connection with a stolen car. He was arrested after a Jefferson County deputy spotted him allegedly driving the car and striking a concrete block in Imperial, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The incident happened at 11:07 p.m. Feb. 19 in a parking lot in the 7000 block of Hwy. 61-67. After the man allegedly struck the concrete block, the deputy learned the car, a 1998 Honda Accord, had been reported stolen from Crystal City, according to the report. The car was valued at $3,000.
The suspect was booked and released pending application for warrants. Moore said the Sheriff’s Office will seek a first-degree tampering charge against the suspect.
