A 36-year-old Crystal City woman and a 28-year-old St. Louis man recently were arrested for allegedly trying to steal gas from the U-Gas station, 3611 West Outer Road, in Arnold, according to Arnold Police.

At 4 a.m. Nov. 4, Arnold Police got a call from the gas station that the two were there allegedly trying to steal gas, the report said.

The pair's vehicle allegedly had been involved in previous “gas drive-offs” in the area, where someone put gas in the vehicle and left without paying for it, according to the report.

In addition, Festus Police were looking for the vehicle, which had been rented but not returned, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.

Arnold Police arrested both the woman and the man and issued them summonses to appear in Municipal Court for misdemeanor stealing, the report said.

The man was released, and the woman was held for Festus Police, who wanted her in connection with the rented car that was not returned, Ruckman said.
