fatal accident patrol patch

Ronald A. Hendrix, 40, of Cedar Hill was killed Jan. 13 in a two-vehicle accident on Dulin Creek Road south of Timberline Drive in House Springs. In addition, a 7-year-old girl was hurt in the wreck, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

The accident was not weather related, said Cpl. Juston Wheetley of the Highway Patrol.

At 5:35 a.m., Hendrix was driving a 1999 Toyota Camry south on Dulin Creek Road, traveling too fast, and he lost control of the car, which crossed the center line into the path of a northbound pickup, and the front of the pickup struck the left side of the car, the report said.

Daniel R. Shinault, 32, of Cedar Hill was driving the pickup, a 2003 Ford F150. No injuries were reported for him. However, a passenger in the pickup, Faith R. Mitchell, 7, of Cedar Hill, sustained moderate injuries and was taken by private conveyance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said today (Jan. 16).

Hendrix was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hendrix was not wearing a seat belt, and Shinault was wearing one. The girl also was using a safety device, the patrol reported.

Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
