Catalytic converters were stolen off two vans that belong to Comtrea while they were parked outside the agency’s office at 21 Municipal Drive in Arnold. The damage to the 2007 Ford vans was estimated at $3,000, Arnold Police reported.
The theft was reported on March 3, but the catalytic converters could have been stolen at any time after Jan. 1. An employee told officers the vans were rarely used, and he only noticed the converters were missing because he occasionally starts the engines to make sure they are still functioning, the report said.
As of March 10, the converters had not been recovered and no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
