The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of 19 catalytic converters that were cut off buses at the Central State Bus Sales business, 1200 Sugar Creek Square, in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, authorities reported.
Deputies were called to the business on Feb. 16, when the owner discovered the theft. It is believed the suspects entered through a large opening created by a tree falling on a fence, the report said.
As of Feb. 20, none of the catalytic converters had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
