Eureka Police are investigating the theft of a catalytic converter from a car a customer had left at the Eureka Collison Center auto repair shop, 1023 W. Fifth St. The cost to repair the damage was estimated at $800, police reported.

A 73-year-old Glencoe man had left his 2008 Honda Tiburon at the business on May 21. The damage was discovered at about 8:10 a.m. May 22, the report said.

As of June 2, the converter had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
