cell tower

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent theft from a work truck parked in the 4600 block of West Rock Creek Road in High Ridge near a cell tower where the victim was working. The theft occurred just before noon on July 13, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, who works for Verizon, told deputies he was taking items from the truck to the cell tower when someone stole $200 in cash and a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 cell phone worth about $500 from the truck. The victim also said he believes that since the truck was parked in a field near a wooded area, the suspect must have lived nearby and was watching him from the woods, the report said.

Deputies questioned people who live nearby. As of July 26, though, the stolen items had not been recovered and there were no suspects or arrests, said Detective Sgt. Jim Kausler with the Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
