Arnold Police are investigating the theft of a car from outside a home in the 3400 block of Swan Circle North. The black 2010 Honda Civic was unlocked and the engine was running when it was stolen, authorities said.
A 47-year-old Arnold woman told police she was planning to take her grandson to school at about 6:45 a.m. Nov. 11. However, after she had started her car, she realized her grandson had not come out of the house with her, so she went inside to get her grandson, and when they came out about two minutes later, the car was gone, the report said.
The car, which was valued at $10,000, was seen in surveillance being driven away from the house at a high rate of speed. The woman’s purse and cell phone, together valued at about $1,600, were in the car when it was stolen, Arnold Police reported.
As of Nov. 18, neither the car nor the other stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
