Arnold Police arrested a 31-year-old Branson man for alleged possession of heroin after he was stopped for reportedly shoplifting merchandise from Walmart. The man allegedly stole $1,060.43 worth of items from the store, 2201 Michigan Ave., Arnold Police reported.
Members of the store’s loss prevention team called police to the store at about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 1, after they stopped the man for allegedly leaving the store with a grocery cart filled with items he didn’t pay for, including five knife sets, a HP table-top computer, two vacuum cleaners, three candles, men’s clothing, a dash camera and household items, the report said.
The man already was wanted in Jefferson County for violating the terms of his probation and in Greene County on a warrant for forgery, according to the report.
After the man was arrested, an officer found a plastic bag in the suspect’s pants pocket, and the bag allegedly contained several capsules and a package that had 168 red-and-white capsules and three heart-shape pills inside it, the report said.
The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and held for the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the report said.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and shoplifting, Capt. Rich Shular said.
