The death of a 47-year-old Barnhart man is being investigated as suspicious. The man was found in his home in the 1500 block of Valley Garden Drive with unexplained injuries, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Spokesman Grant Bissell said today, Aug. 16, the Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the man’s name because of the ongoing investigation. He said while the death is being investigated as suspicious, it has not been ruled a homicide.
Bissell said the Medical Examiner’s Office is examining the man’s body to determine a cause of death. He said the examiner’s report was not available today.
Family members called deputies to the home on Tuesday, Aug. 15, and said they had not spoken to their relative for about a week. The man was last seen by a neighbor on Aug. 11, Bissell said.
He said the Sheriff’s Office was not releasing information about the man’s injuries. Anyone with information about the man’s death is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
