An ATV, tools, a wallet with cash inside and other items recently were stolen from a home in the 9900 block of Lincoln Drive in the Hillsboro area. The theft occurred between 9 p.m. June 14 and 4 a.m. June 15, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Stolen items included a 2010 Kymko ATV, a DeWalt impact screw gun set, a Hobart welder spool gun, a Metabo aluminum cutter, a Milwaukee ratchet, a Milwaukee hammer drill, a DeWalt battery charger, a wallet with $1,000 cash inside and a Sanyo radio and CD player. In all, the items were valued at $3,000, the report said.
Most of the items were stolen from the garage, and the wallet was taken out of a vehicle parked in the garage. However, some ATVs and motorcycles parked outside the garage, including some with keys in the ignition, weren’t stolen, according to the report.
A witness reported seeing a dark SUV parked in the area on June 12 that left when he approached it. As of June 17, though, there were no suspects or arrests, said Lt. Gary Higginbotham of the Sheriff’s Office. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
