The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating recent damage to an ATM at the First State Community Bank, 4551 Old Hwy. 21, in Imperial. At 12:42 a.m. Aug. 13, authorities responded to an alarm that sounded after the ATM was damaged, a report said.

Investigators found the north side door of the ATM enclosure standing open “with forcible damage to the door handle and bolt lock,” according to the report.

A review of surveillance footage showed a male suspect spray-painting over a camera on the ATM. The spray paint can was found in a nearby wooded area and was seized as evidence, the report said.

As of Aug. 22, no suspects had been identified and no arrests had been made, Moore said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
