arnold police patch

A 37-year-old Arnold woman recently was issued a summons after her 4-year-old reportedly was found in the middle of the traffic lanes at Jeffco Boulevard and Church Road, according to Arnold Police.

At 1:26 p.m. May 26, a passerby spotted the child in the middle of the intersection and called Arnold Police. Officers arrived and found the child there. He was not hurt, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

Police canvassed the area and found that the boy lived at a nearby home. The mother was found at the home, and six other children were staying there, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

He said the woman told police she thought the 4-year-old was playing in the yard when he was found in the intersection.

The boy was returned to his mother, but police reported the incident to Children’s Division. In addition, the woman was issued a summons to appear in Municipal Court for endangering the welfare of a child, Jones said.
