Arnold Police are trying to identify a man suspected of attempting to break into change machines at car washes in the city. One incident occurred Nov. 13 at Warrior Wash and the other on Nov. 7 at Aladdin’s Car Wash, police reported.

Surveillance footage allegedly showed a man at about 4:20 a.m. Nov. 13 trying to pry open a machine at Warrior Wash, 1545 Big Bill Road. The man was unable to get into the machine, but he caused about $700 worth of damage, the report said.

The earlier incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at Aladdin’s Car Wash, 3681 the West Outer Road, when $150 worth of quarters were stolen from a damaged machine there. It is not known when the change machine was damaged or how much it would cost to repair it, according to the report.

The surveillance video at Warrior Wash showed a Chevrolet Cavalier leaving the business after the man failed to get into the change machine, according to a report.

“Generally, when you get into someone doing something specialized like that, it is the same person going to all of the locations that you have,” Capt. Rich Shular said.

As of Nov. 20, police had not identified the man seen in the surveillance video, Shular said. Anyone with information about the incidents should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
