Arnold Police are asking for help to find those responsible for throwing an explosive device from a pickup at a mobile home in the Starling Community.

At about 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13, someone allegedly drove by the home in a white GMC extended-cab pickup and threw a mortar shell-type firework at it, breaking a window and damaging the skirting. The damage was estimated at about $500, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

At least one person was home when the firework was thrown at the home, but, fortunately, no one was hurt, Jones said.

“A guy was looking out a window at the time,” Jones said.

More than one witness told police they saw two white men inside a white GMC pickup “traveling without its lights on at a high rate of speed” after the device was thrown, Jones said.

He said witnesses estimated the pickup was somewhere between a 2003 and 2006 and had two toolboxes in the bed of the truck – one on each side – as well as a gray plastic trash can in the back, Jones said.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or the incident is asked to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
