Arnold Police are searching for a 27-year-old Arnold man who fled from police in a family member’s car when an officer tried to pull him over for a traffic violation. The incident happened about 1 p.m. April 9, when the man was driving a Chevrolet Spark with two passengers in the car on Pomme Road, Arnold Police reported.

An officer allegedly observed the Spark make a left turn onto Pomme Road without using a signal and followed the car, which was traveling 55 mph in a 30 mph zone, according to a report.

When the officer turned on the patrol vehicle’s lights and siren, the driver of the Spark allegedly sped up to approximately 80 mph, and the officer terminated the pursuit. Arnold Police used the license plate number to trace the Spark to a home where it was registered and discovered the car parked about a block away from there, the report said.

The car was towed, and later the owner, who was not driving the Spark when the police tried to pull it over, claimed it, a report said.

Arnold Police Lt. Tom Leassner said the driver was listed as wanted for failure to yield. As of April 19, he had not been taken into custody.
