arnold police patch

Arnold Police rescued a dog who was left unattended in an SUV parked outside of the Texas Roadhouse restaurant, 806 Arnold Commons Drive. Police reported the outside temperature was 91 degrees, and the dog’s owner was eating inside the restaurant.

On July 29, officers saw the dog inside a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. The SUV was not running, and a window was partially open, the report said.

The Equinox’s doors were not locked, and the officers removed the dog from the SUV and put it into an air-conditioned police vehicle. The dog’s owner, a 21-year-old Excelsior Springs man, came out of the restaurant while officers were conducting their investigation, according to the report.

The man was arrested and then released at the scene. He was issued a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for alleged animal cruelty, Detective Lt. Jeremey Christopher said.
