Arnold Police are seeking a 27-year-old Imperial woman who allegedly got $29 in gas from the U-Gas station, 3611 West Outer Road, and left without paying for it and then fled from police after her vehicle, which had previously been reported stolen, was spotted in the area, says Detective Lt. James Jones.
At 12:25 p.m. Sept. 1, the woman stole the gas and then dropped off a male passenger she had with her at the Home Depot store on Vogel Road in Arnold. An officer who was patrolling the area looking for the suspect’s vehicle, which had been stolen in Illinois, spotted it there, and chased the woman for a short period until her vehicle crossed into unincorporated Jefferson County, Jones said.
The 21-year-old St. Louis man that the suspect had dropped off at Home Depot was wanted in St. Louis on outstanding warrants for resisting arrest, property damage and traffic violations. He was booked and held for St. Louis authorities. Arnold Police will seek second-degree tampering charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Jones said.
Arnold Police have listed the Imperial woman as wanted and will seek first-degree tampering and stealing charges against her through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. As of Friday (Sept. 9), she had not been taken into custody, Jones said.
