A 29-year-old Arnold woman was arrested for stealing after she allegedly used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase items at the Zinger’s gas station convenience store, 1502 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. She bought cigarettes and food, which cost $19.09, at the store and received $80.91 in change, Arnold Police reported.

Officers also arrested a 37-year-old O’Fallon man who was with the woman when she was arrested because he was wanted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office on an active warrant, the report said.

Officers were called on March 27 after the woman had completed her purchase at the convenience store. They found the woman and man walking near the intersection of Jeffco Boulevard and Church Road, according to the report.

The two were taken to the Arnold Police Station, where they were booked. The woman was released with a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for alleged stealing, and the man was held for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Arnold Police Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
