Arnold Police arrested a 20-year-old St. Louis man who allegedly was found at the Pear Tree Inn, 1201 Drury Lane, with heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, three firearms and a large amount of ammunition. The man, who also reportedly has lived in Hillsboro, already was wanted in St. Louis County on outstanding warrants for DWI and possession of a controlled substance, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
At 9:09 p.m. Oct. 18, Arnold Police got a call about the man acting suspiciously at the hotel. He allegedly “had a handgun and was disassembling it in the lobby,” Jones said. He said the man also was asking weird questions and acting strangely.
When officers searched the man’s room at the hotel, they allegedly found 90 heroin capsules, crack cocaine, marijuana, prescription medication, three firearms and more than 250 rounds of ammunition, Jones said.
Arnold Police took the man into custody and then transported him to the St. Louis County Police Department, Jones said. Depending on results from drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek drug charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. As of Nov. 10, no charges had been filed, Jones added.
