A 40-year-old Hillsboro man and a 36-year-old Cedar Hill woman were arrested after they allegedly arrived at the BP gas station, 3700 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold in a pickup that had been reported stolen in Barnhart. Officers arrived at the gas station after they were alerted by Flock license plate-reading cameras that the stolen 1996 Toyota Tacoma was inside Arnold city limits, Arnold Police reported.
The pickup was first spotted on Richardson Road, and officers located the pickup at about 9:40 p.m. April 30 parked outside the gas station. Officers went into the convenience store, and an employee told the officers the man and woman had arrived in the pickup. In addition, video surveillance showed the man get out of the driver’s side and the woman exit the passenger’s side of the pickup after it arrived at the gas station, the report said.
The two were arrested inside the store without incident. The man already was wanted on a warrant from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the report said.
The two were taken to the Police Station, where they were booked. The woman was released pending application for warrants, and the man was held for the Sheriff’s Office, according to the report.
Arnold Police will seek charges through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office against the man for first-degree tampering and against the woman for second-degree tampering, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
