Arnold Police arrested a 52-year-old St. Louis man wanted by Homeland Security after he allegedly used stolen bank account information to buy $6,000 worth of merchandise from Lowe’s, 920 Arnold Commons Drive. The man allegedly had stolen more than $100,000 worth of merchandise at Lowe’s stores in Missouri and Illinois, police reported.

At about 2:50 p.m. April 4, an Arnold Lowe's employee spotted the man in the store, recognized him and called police. The employee told police the man had been in the store twice that day, and he was suspected of using stolen account information to purchase appliances, the report said.

A detective found the man in the store and arrested him because he was wanted by Homeland Security. The man also was wanted by O’Fallon Police for a felony warrant, according to the report.

Detective Lt. Jeremey Christopher said the case has been referred to the U.S. District Attorney’s Office.
