Pevely Police arrested a man who was at the department's Police Station waiting in the lobby for a friend.
The suspect, a 30-year-old Arnold man, was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Pevely Police Chief Mark Glenn said.
He said the incident occurred about 10 a.m. Feb. 18 at the station, 401 Main St., when an officer recognized the man and checked his records. He was there to “check on a friend who was in custody.”
Glenn said the suspect denied having any contraband, but officers found a container for Dramamine Motion Sickness Relief for Kids in his pocket, but the container held several different capsules and was seized as evidence. The suspect told officers he forgot he had the pills, adding that a friend had given the container to him to hold.
Glenn said Feb. 22 that the investigation was ongoing, and Pevely Police were working with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab on the case.
He said the suspect was released on his own recognizance after Pevely Police consulted with the Sheriff’s Office.
