A 52-year-old Arnold man was arrested for alleged unlawful use of a weapon following a traffic stop. He was allegedly found with a gun that he was not supposed to have due to previous felony convictions, Arnold Police reported.
An officer at about 6:10 p.m. Jan. 31 stopped a 2016 Buick Rendezvous on Hwy. 141 near Old Lemay Ferry Road because the SUV did not have properly registered license plates. The man driving the SUV was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on two active felony warrants, the report said.
The man was arrested. When an officer searched the man, he allegedly found a gun in the waistband of the man’s pants, according to the report.
The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and held for the Sheriff’s Office, the report said.
Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for unlawful use of a weapon, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
