handcuffs and jail bars

A 53-year-old Arnold man was arrested for allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will and threatening to kill her. The incident happened just before 1 p.m. March 18, Arnold Police reported.

Police went to a home on Bridgeview Court after a 911 call came from that home, and when officers arrived, they could hear a disturbance going on inside, the report said.

The man and his girlfriend were inside, and the woman told police that she called 911 after she and her boyfriend had a dispute and he allegedly held her against her will, with his hand over her mouth. She also said the man told her “she wasn’t going anywhere without him” and threatened to kill her, according to the report.

The woman had red marks on her face, but she wasn’t seriously hurt and refused medical treatment. The man was taken into custody, booked and held for 12 hours. Then, he was released pending application for warrants, Lt. Tom Leassner said.

He said Arnold Police will seek charges against the suspect through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for second-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault. As of Thursday (March 29), the man had not been charged, Leassner said.
