A 29-year-old Arnold man wanted on outstanding warrants was arrested in Arnold City Park on Bradley Beach Road after he allegedly tried to run away from police who stopped him for a vehicle equipment violation, Arnold Police reported.
At about 3:50 p.m. Jan. 19, an officer pulled over the man, who was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, on Jeffco Boulevard near Starling Airport Road. After the driver stopped, he got out on the passenger side of the car and ran toward the nearby park, the report said.
The man was apprehended in the park without further incident. He was taken to the Police Station, where officers discovered he was wanted in St. Louis for a felony probation violation and in Festus for two warrants, according to the report.
The man allegedly told police he had used heroin, and he was released to the Rock Township Ambulance District for evaluation, the report said.
Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man for felony resisting arrest through Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
