A 35-year-old Arnold man allegedly assaulted two Arnold Police officers while he was being arrested at a home in the 1800 block of Adyn Avenue. Officers had been called to the house after the man allegedly attacked a 19-year-old Iowa man there, Arnold Police reported.
The Arnold Police Department got a call at approximately 8:40 p.m. Oct. 29 about the alleged assault. The man allegedly hit the victim in the face and bit the victim’s calf, the report said.
When the two officers attempted to arrest the man, he allegedly knocked down one of them before he was handcuffed. After the suspect was in handcuffs, he allegedly kicked and tried to headbutt another officer, according to the report.
Neither officer was seriously injured, the report said.
The suspect already was wanted on warrants from the St. Louis County Police Department. He was taken to the Arnold Police Station, where he was booked and held for St. Louis County Police, according to the report.
Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for domestic assault, assaulting law enforcement officers and resisting arrest, Detective Cpl. Josh Wineinger said.
