A 19-year-old Arnold man was arrested Monday (March 18) after he allegedly put LSD in two of his co-workers’ water bottles at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 3932 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold Police reported.

At 4:45 p.m., the manager of the auto rental agency called police about the incident and said the two employees – a 24-year-old Imperial woman and a 23-year-old St. Louis man – had to go to the hospital after something was put in their water, the report said.

The manager, a 27-year-old St. Louis woman, told authorities the suspect was “acting weird” that morning and she saw him allegedly holding a water dropper and “messing with” her water jug, but she didn’t drink from it, the report said.

The manager said she also saw the suspect allegedly messing with the two employees’ water bottles and after that, the Imperial woman and St. Louis man began to feel weird and dizzy. They went to an Urgent Care Center before being transported to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where they were treated and released, according to the report.

When authorities questioned the Arnold man about the incident, he allegedly told them he put LSD into the water bottle, adding that “They were too uptight, and they needed to have better energy,” the report said.

Arnold Police field tested the water at the business, but the results were not conclusive, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results from the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for second-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance, Wooldridge said.

An Enterprise employee reached by phone today (March 21) said no one in the office could talk about the incident.
