Jeffrey L. Taylor, 44, has been accused of attacking a woman who he is related to at a home southwest of Arnold. He allegedly stole the woman’s phone and car keys after the attack but returned the items the next day, according to court documents.
Taylor has been charged with felony first-degree domestic assault. He was arrested on April 28, and as of May 1, he was being held on a $15,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called on April 3 to a home in the 800 block of Green Apple Court by the alleged victim. The woman told deputies Taylor started yelling at her before striking her in the face and neck.
The woman also said Taylor choked her before taking her phone and keys and leaving the home. He returned the next day and gave the woman back her phone and keys, and she left the home, the report said.
The woman was evaluated at a local hospital, and the report said she had two broken ribs, a broken sternum and brain bleed.
