A 45-year-old Hillsboro man was issued a summons for allegedly kicking and damaging a door to a room at the Super 8 hotel, 1711 Hwy. Z, in Pevely. The door was damaged so badly it would not open, and hotel employees had to use a pry bar to free the person inside the room, Pevely Police Chief Mark Glenn said.
He said the incident happened Feb. 17, after the suspect got into an argument with the person he was staying with in another room at the hotel and became so angry he walked into the hallway and began kicking the door of the adjacent room. Damage to the door was estimated at $100.
Glenn said his department issued the suspect a summons to appear in Pevely Municipal Court for second-degree property damage.
