A woman told the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office someone stole $2,870 in cash from the trunk of her car while it was parked in the 4500 block of Skyview Drive in the Arnold area. The theft occurred between 6 p.m. Aug. 10 and 4:11 p.m. Aug. 11, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The victim told authorities she noticed the money missing when she went to her car to place some jewelry in it. At that time, she noticed that a money bag she kept inside the trunk seemed “light,” a report said.
It looked like the culprit forced open the trunk because there were scratch marks and other markings on it, according to the report.
As of Aug. 22, no suspects had been identified and no arrests had been made, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
