A historic castle featuring a dungeon, dining room and a Great Hall is up for sale for $1.3 million.

Law Castle is a 15th-century fully restored medieval tower house - steeped in royal history and architectural significance.

The stunning property was commissioned in 1467 as a wedding gift for Princess Mary Stuart, daughter of King James II of Scotland, who was a direct descendant of Robert The Bruce.

The castle, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Ayrshire coast, was built to mark her marriage to Thomas Boyd, Earl of Arran.

Listed with Savills, Law Castle, in West Kilbride, North Ayrshire, has been described as a "striking fusion of medieval architecture and modern comfort."

They say it is a 'rare opportunity' to own a piece of Scotland's history

Spanning across six floors and over 3,000 square feet, the castle features a Great Hall, six bedrooms, four bathrooms, three lounge areas - as well as a dungeon dining room.

The property boasts distinctive and fitting details such as: rugged stone walls, exposed timber beams, a stone fireplace, red velvet curtains, and a roof enhanced by decorative stonework.

Peter Walker, a Savills estate agent, said: "This is not just a home, but a living piece of Scottish history-restored with care, alive with character and offers a rare chance to own one of Scotland's most iconic homes.

"Law Castle stands as a testament to Scotland's architectural resilience and royal heritage, it positively reeks of the romance, pride and passion of Scotland's history.

"The restoration has preserved its authentic period features - including the spiral stone staircase, vaulted chambers, and caphouse lookout - while seamlessly integrating modern comforts.

"The result is a residence of exceptional character, historical gravitas and, if you imagine The Bruce, Knights Templar and full on Da Vinci Code you will not be far wrong!

"This is an extremely rare opportunity to own, "feel" and be a part of an incredibly authentic piece of Scotland's noble past."

Law Castle is on the market for offers over $1 million with Savills.
