The Missouri Department of Transportation said portions of Metropolitan Boulevard, which runs parallel to I-55 between Barnhart and Pevely, will be closed during the day for several days in July to replace seven pipes along that stretch.
The closures are scheduled for July 7 to July 9 when three pipes are to be replaced on Metropolitan near Hwy. Z in Pevely. The other four pipes are to replaced between July 13 and July 16 on the roadway near Hwy. M in Barnhart. The closures will be from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day of scheduled work.
Partial closures of Metropolitan also are scheduled for July 10 and for July 17 to allow crews time to place asphalt over the pipes, according to the press release. Flaggers will direct traffic through the partial closures.
The work and closures could change depending on the weather.
Signs on I-55 will alert motorists of the closures and detours, MoDOT reported.
