The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking public input for a pipe replacement project on Hwy. H about a half mile west of the Big River and 8 miles west of De Soto.
As part of the project, the road will be closed for about one week to install a new pipe and flatten slopes on both sides of Hwy. H. To make these improvements and provide safer slopes, additional right-of-way will be required from the Merrill Horse River Access (Conservation Commission of Missouri), MoDOT said.
The road will be closed to traffic during the pipe replacement, and a signed detour will be in place.
The project, which is in the design and planning phase, is scheduled to go out for bids in the summer or fall of 2027 with construction set to begin in fall or winter 2027. The cost is estimated at $180,000.
