A House Springs man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Saturday morning (July 22) on Hwy. 50 about halfway between Union and Beaufort in western Franklin County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Eric Schroeder, 35, of House Springs was driving a 2003 Chrysler Concorde east on Hwy. 50 east of Wildwood Ridge at 11:42 a.m. when he crossed the center line and hit head-on a westbound 2016 Ford E450 driven by Eric Stanley, 58, of St. Louis.
Stanley sustained moderate injuries, the report said. Both men were taken by Union Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington, where Schroeder was pronounced dead at 12:46 p.m., the report said.
An update on Stanley’s condition is not available.
Both men were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Chrysler was totaled and the Ford had extensive damage.
