The Horine Road bridge over Joachim Creek north of Festus will close for repair work for approximately a month starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8.
The bridge, which is in unincorporated Jefferson County, is south of Stonewater Subdivision and north of McNutt School Road, said Festus Special Road District Supervisor Randy Casey.
“It’s an approximately $250,000 project,” Casey said. “There will be several subcontractors. We try to rehabilitate one of our bridges per year. It’s just something that needs to be done over time.”
He said the project should take approximately 30 days, weather permitting.
“It’s going to be painted underneath,” he said. “There will be some concrete patching on the deck. The project also includes updating the guardrails on the approach and on the bridge. We’ll be replacing the expansion joints on each end of the bridge and resealing the bridge surface.”
Casey said signs will alert drivers to the bridge work.
“There will be illuminated signs during the project,” he said. “We’ll put up detour signs.”
