The Fox C-6 School District recently settled a lawsuit filed after a woman was injured when she tripped and fell on the Fox High School campus in November 2017, according to court documents.
Cathleen and James Caery of St. Louis filed the lawsuit against the district in October 2020. On May 4, Board of Education members voted 6-0 during a closed meeting to pay the couple $70,000, school officials said.
JP Prezzavento, Fox’s communications and instructional technology coordinator, said the district’s insurance policy covered the cost of the settlement.
Board member Jim Chellew was absent from the meeting.
